About
SACOM is a non-profit organization that was founded in June 2005 in Hong Kong, China. Dedicated to improving labor conditions for cleaning and security workers under the outsourcing policy, it originated from a student movement and has seen relative success. It is committed to bringing together students, scholars, labor activists, and consumers to monitor corporate behavior and to campaign for workers’ rights. To achieve this, SACOM works in collaboration with labor NGOs to provide in-factory training to workers in South China. Additionally, the organization supports the formation of worker-based committees through democratic elections, allowing workers to represent the voices of the majority.
